Argentine justice has initiated an investigation against Peruvian footballers Carlos Zambrano, Miguel Trauco, and Sergio Peña following a woman's complaint of alleged sexual assault at a hotel in neighboring Uruguay. Following the case's disclosure, the Peruvian club Alianza Lima, where the accused players are members, has indefinitely separated them from the squad and initiated a 'disciplinary procedure.' A 22-year-old woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, reported that on January 18, she was a victim of sexual assault at the Hyatt hotel in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. She pointed to Zambrano, Trauco, and Peña as the responsible individuals, who were in the city for preseason training with their team.
