Montevideo Aspires to Host Major South American Match Again

The city of Asunción is bidding to host the final of the Copa Libertadores de América. The capital of Paraguay has hosted this important competition three times in the past and is once again seeking to be the host of the grand final of the most important club tournament in South America.

Asunción's interest in hosting the final of the Copa Libertadores has emerged as part of Conmebol's efforts to determine where the decisive match of the current edition of the tournament will take place. Montevideo and Brasília are other cities that have also expressed their intention to organize this major sporting event.

"We think it is an excellent idea for Asunción to be considered as a venue for the final of the Copa Libertadores once again. We have the experience and the necessary infrastructure to successfully carry out such events," stated the mayor of the Paraguayan city, showing local support for this initiative.
