Panamanian goalkeeper Luis 'Manotas' Mejía became a champion with his team, Nacional, in the top division of Uruguayan football. The team defeated Peñarol 1-0. The winning goal was scored by Nigerian striker Osinachi Christian Ebere in extra time. Mejía was a starter and played the entire match. At Gran Parque Central stadium, Tricolor took advantage of their home ground and secured a victory in a match that was full of emotions for all 30 minutes of extra time, after the regular 90 minutes were more of a struggle than a game.
