Uruguayan club Nacional officially announced the injury of Panamanian goalkeeper Luis Mejía, suffered during the March friendlies with the Panama national team, clarifying the medical situation for the experienced keeper. In its medical report, the Uruguayan team detailed the diagnosis. “Player Luis Mejía has a right hamstring tear,” the club posted on social media. The 35-year-old goalkeeper has already begun his rehabilitation process under the supervision of Nacional's medical staff, with the aim of returning to competition in optimal conditions. As a result of this injury, Mejía will be unavailable for the match this Wednesday, April 8, against Chile's Coquimbo Unido, corresponding to the group stage of the Copa Libertadores, to be played at the Municipal Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso stadium. The Panamanian goalkeeper suffered the injury on March 27 during the first friendly between Panama and South Africa, which ended 1-1 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Mejía started the match and had to leave the pitch in the 41st minute. He was replaced by Orlando Mosquera.
