Stadium Change in the Copa Libertadores Semifinal

The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol), based in the Paraguayan city of Luque, announced today the change of stadium for the match between Peñarol and Botafogo, for the second leg of the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores de América.

The decision comes in response to a request for the match to be played at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, following a security recommendation from the Ministry of the Interior of Uruguay. In this sense, Conmebol agreed to the recommendation from the Uruguayan institution and determined the new stadium for the match, recalling that it was initially scheduled to be played at the Estadio Campeón del Siglo in the same city.

Thus, the rematch between Uruguayans and Brazilians will finally take place this Wednesday, October 30, at the Centenario stadium, at 21:30 local time.

Conmebol's statement indicated that: "The South American Football Confederation informs the media, clubs, and the general public that the match corresponding to the second leg of the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores between Peñarol and Botafogo will be held at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, on Wednesday, October 30 at 21:30."
