The startup Zapia, which integrates directly into WhatsApp and adapts to consumer and business behavior norms across Latin America, has successfully raised an additional $7.25 million in a financing round led by Prosus Ventures. The company has demonstrated initial viral growth due to its ability to answer questions and transcribe WhatsApp audio messages for free. Juan Pablo Pereira, CEO and co-founder of Zapia, stated: "This funding allows us to accelerate this mission, expand our team, and invest in our technology." Currently, the platform is used by more than 3.5 million users across the region, offering a range of free features in a simple WhatsApp chat interface. Zapia can browse the web on behalf of users, interpret images and PDF files, draft content, set reminders, and schedule messages, among other tasks. The received investment will allow the company to continue developing its service and expand in the Latin American market. On the other hand, Hutchison Ports TIMSA made an investment of 300 million pesos in the acquisition of two sixth-generation mobile electric cranes, which will be part of a developing external yard of 7 hectares. These cranes will help improve the efficiency and sustainability of the port terminal, reducing its carbon footprint and optimizing its operations. Grupo Rica, Coca-Cola's bottler, celebrated 10 years of its Change Agent program, a school initiative that promotes recycling culture through the collection of PET bottles. This program has recycled more than 570 thousand kilograms of PET, actively involving more than 300 schools and fostering environmental awareness in children through educational workshops on caring for the environment and natural resources.
