In Cerro Largo's 2-0 victory over Liverpool in the Uruguayan Clausura tournament, a historic event occurred: the Argentine goalkeeper Gino Santilli scored a goal from one end of the pitch to the other.

The goalkeeper launched the ball with a powerful left-footed strike from the corner of his own area. The ball gained height and quickly traveled towards the opposing goal, aided by the wind during a storm.

During its flight, the ball bounced on the edge of the penalty area and was cleared by a Liverpool defender, who thought his goalkeeper would easily stop it. However, goalkeeper Sebastián Lentinelly was out of position and watched as the ball went over him and into the net.

The goal scorer, Gino Santilli, is a 24-year-old Argentine goalkeeper whose rights belong to Banfield. He made his debut in local football in 2021 in a match marked by the large number of absences for "El Taladro" due to a quarantine following a series of coronavirus cases. He has been on loan at Cerro Largo since mid-2023, being a regular starter and even playing in the Copa Sudamericana.

Incredible goal by Gino Santilli.
