Conmebol has warned the Uruguayan club about possible consequences if it does not comply with safety measures. This includes the possibility of playing without spectators or moving the match venue to another country.
According to the South American Football Confederation, the Uruguayan club has not met all the necessary standards to ensure the safety of spectators and teams. Therefore, different options are being evaluated to ensure the match takes place safely.
"We find ourselves in the obligation to point out that, if the situation is not corrected, we will be forced to take additional measures, such as playing behind closed doors or even moving the match venue to another country," stated a Conmebol spokesperson.
