A 63-year-old woman from Montevideo, Uruguay, who has been suffering from a terminal illness for nearly three decades, made a dramatic plea to access euthanasia. «I am totally decided,» she stated. For her, death does not represent fear, but rather relief and «liberation». In an interview with 'Telenoche' from Montevideo, María spoke about her suffering and her decision to «die with dignity». According to the Argentine News Agency, the woman has been bedridden for 7 years, unable to move or perform basic activities, and described the pain as permanent and spread throughout her body. María recalled that she fought hard and managed to raise her daughter, but affirmed that her situation has become irreversible. «I can't take it anymore,» she concluded, asking the world to help her «die with dignity». When asked what she asks of the Justice system, María was firm: «That they listen to me, that they help me».
