Gastronomic Festival in Cuernavaca Celebrating Uruguay

Uruguay will present itself on the international scene, showcasing its extensive gastronomy and cultural events; the local municipality accompanying this celebration will be the mystical Tepoztlán, which will amaze with its traditional cuisine and unique cultural richness. This positions it in an accessible range, allowing visitors to try as many recipes as possible.

"This festival is the best gastronomic expression that has been consolidated in the state for years; it is no small matter that this event has already been held thirteen times," declared Alfaí Valladares, Secretary of Tourism of Morelos.

The dates to enjoy this culinary corridor are November 30 and December 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Each year, there are three categories for the honored guests.

Querétaro will delight with its emblematic cuisine, highlighting the importance of hosting a country that is so significant in the agricultural industry, as despite having a small population, Uruguay supplies foodstuffs to more than 30 billion people outside its homeland.

Santiago Wins stated that through gastronomy a unique opportunity is created to establish relations between both nations and, at the same time, share culture.

Since 2021, Sabor es Morelos has integrated producers from Morelos, who participate with high-quality products grown in these beautiful lands. They firmly believe in the need to connect producers with consumers, promoting fair trade.

It will also feature local producers of craft beers and, for the first time, a special pavilion of contemporary art where 12 Morelos artists will exhibit their wonderful works.

It is expected to surpass the visit of more than 100,000 people to the gastronomic showcase that will take place in the corridor of Avenida Hidalgo in Cuernavaca, Morelos. Sabor es Morelos is the international gastronomic festival that brings together the best chefs in the world in one place.

At the press conference to share the details of the celebration, the presence of Santiago Wins, ambassador of Uruguay; Alfaí Valladares, Secretary of Tourism of Morelos; Fernando Pereda, head of Economic and Financial Affairs of Uruguay, and Griselda Hurtado, general director of the festival was noted.

The organizers made it clear that the center of the capital, specifically the corridor of Avenida Hidalgo in Cuernavaca, has been prepared to receive more than 80,000 attendees expected on the two festival days. More than 60 restaurants from the state, artisans, producers from the "Orgullo Morelos" program, and producers from the Secretariat of Agricultural Development will participate. The prices of dishes and tastings will range between 30 and 100 pesos.

For thirteen editions, the state of Siervo de la Nación has adorned its capital with the flavors of Mexico.
