The change of command ceremony in Uruguay for the inauguration of Yamandú Orsi as president will take place this Saturday as initially planned, outdoors at the Plaza Independencia. This decision was made considering updates from weather forecasts, with expert advice, and with the aim of prioritizing citizen participation in the celebration of democracy and freedom, marking the return of institutionalism after 40 years.

"The protocol greetings will take place at the Estévez Palace (former Government House) and afterwards it is planned for President Prof. Yamandú Orsi to address Plaza Independencia to greet the citizens and enjoy the artistic performance," noted the incoming administration's statement. The ceremony of transfer of command, assumption, and signing of acts of incoming ministers will take place in front of the Executive Tower, the seat of government, in the city of Montevideo.

In case of adverse weather conditions, the use of the National Auditorium Adela Reta is planned as an alternative space. Following the protocol events, President Orsi and elected Vice President Carolina Cosse will take their Oath of Honor before the General Assembly of Parliament and will travel in an electric vehicle 2.5 kilometers to Plaza Independencia.

After five years in opposition, the Broad Front (FA) will return to government on March 1, this time led by Yamandú Orsi, a 57-year-old history teacher who previously served as the mayor of the department of Canelones.
